Vans x Lego® x Alëxone

Alëxone received me in his brand new workshop closed to Paris as I'm working on a very personal project (I'll tell you more soon). For those who don't know Alëxone yet, he is a very talented artist who paint an art between graffiti and cartoon with always a lot of coulours, a strong personnality and a bit of humour. Here is his website, and his blog. Alëxone is full of creativity and is like a kid who can have fun with nothing! The background you see is a simple black table recovered by a wall of Lego pieces. Or how to make a piece of art with almost nothing! Simple, brillant, and funny. I wanted to make a photo of my new pair of Vans, and when I saw this table, I knew it was the background I wanted.

Fashion & BMX, the Ranger RX did it well.

When I bought my Elinchrom Ranger RX at Db Photo two months ago, it was first to complete a contract for a big company consisting in a serie of more than 600 portraits of employees. Not very interesting considering the "art" side, but good enough to test my new Ranger RX in nomad photo studio conditions. Few days after, I went to visit a friend of mine who is an "old" national race level BMXer. I don't need to say that his 3 young sons have already some impressive BMX skills! Eddy, the oldest one, is a national top 10 rider in his category and is faster and more stylished than most of the guys I know! Eddy loves also fashion and photography and wants to be a model, I'm sure he can do it due to his cute face! Well, I brought my Ranger RX flashes into the BMX track to do a photo test with this young star, with and without his BMX. It was a great sunny day and I believe I went back with some good pics in my memory card. Thanks to Mickael and all his great familly, and also to all the young riders who were on the BMX track and who alowed me to ride ridiculously a cruiser BMX ;-)

La Seine est une piscine, Paris un stade géant

This last week-end, more than 3000 athletes competed in Paris for the Triathlon de Paris. 1,5 Km swimming in La Seine, 40 Km cycling in the streets, and 10 Km running. I was just on time sunday morning at 8am to catch the first 1500 swimmers who started this "galère" from Le Pont Alexandre III, and then to see the other 1500 ones at 8:30. Unfortunatly I didn't see my friend Anto who took the start of this amazing competition. He was there, in the middle of 1500 crazy guys!
La Seine is a swimming pool, Paris a giant stadium!
The 8:30 1500 swimmers look at the 8:00 1500 swimmers already in the water
La galère!

"Fast", a Dimitri Coste's photo exhibition by Born to Run agency

Just back from Pikes Peak, the legendary race in Colorado where he raced his old Triumph motorbike, Dimitri Coste is already in Paris to launch his photo exhibition about L.A. Each time I see Dimitri, he is like a lightning who disappear as fast as he appears! Dimitri Coste is an awesome photographer and an awesome guy full of talent. As a real fan of the skate culture since he is a kid, Dim is now a part of this culture by his meetings, colaborations and of course his photographs.
Check his "Motel Coste" blog for more infos, and here is the Fast magazine website.

Joko live @ Sentier des Halles, Paris

Few days ago, just before my trip in Austria, I had to shoot Joko onstage. After shooting some videos for the same music band before (you can see my part in 2 videos here and here), I was finally happy to shoot some still images. Here are some of the moments I have captured.
