Eclectic week

Last week, I covered several events in Paris. And, as often, I run to an event from another one, so that I feel like a chameleon who can change his color when he goes to a different place and meet different people. Diversity is exactly what I like when you are a photographer. You learn new things each time you shoot a new subject. I could talk about that during hours and hours. It's a big part of motivation for me and I think I could resume it with one word : curiousity.

Few weeks ago, a friend of mine (Kevin a.k.a Neok - a graffiti artist) told me about a big event coming soon in Paris : the 37th Universal Zulu Nation Anniversary. Universal Zulu Nation was born in 1973 in the Bronx, New York, created by Afrika Bambaataa. It was a period of war between the gangs in NYC, and the Zulu Nation message was all about positiveness and pacifism through the dance, the graffiti, the mceeing and the djaying. All of these elements are the origin of the Hip Hop Culture. The main message of this movement is : "Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun". Through the will of Dj Number Six and several persons, the French Zulu Nation is living a kind of "rebirth". The Universal Zulu Nation Party in Le Batofar, Paris, was a real success hosted by a lot of french "Zulus" like Grand Master Dee Nasty (a real master piece in the French Hip Hop Culture since the 80's), Sidney (H.I.P H.O.P - the famous TV show), Kohndo, Dj Number Six, Neok, Yellow, Dj Kozi, etc. Thanks to Neok and Dj Number Six who gave me the opportunity to be there with my camera.

A nice moment to start another big week shooting for the agency I work for : Getty Images. On monday, it was the "No et moi" premiere, a french movie; on tuesday it was the "Prix Interallie 2010", a literary price won by the Swiss author Jean-Michel Olivier for his book "L'amour nègre"; on wednesday it was the new coin "Taj Mahal" presentation, a new 1kg of golden coin crimped with diamonds, a 29 piece limited edition sold for 100 000 Euros, presented by La Monnaie de Paris and Cartier; on wednesday nigh it was the "Noel Circus" illuminations launch of BHV with French singer and nice Olivia Ruiz...

Paris is definitely surprising of diversity. Eclectic week? Yes, like every week here!
